Schmitt

Marine Steering Wheels – Manufactured entirely of stainless steel except for the cap and the foam grip. T.I.G. welded stainless steel construction with elliptical section rings for a comfortable grip. There are many styles and sizes to choose from. All of the wheels have a tapered hub which is a 1” per foot, 3/4” shaft taper (the industry standard) unless noted as 1” straight bore hub.

We have many wheels which have extra welding for extra strength and longevity which are not available elsewhere. Extra weldings are usually done where the spokes join to the outer ring and on some models extra weldings are also done where the spokes join to the hub shell. Look for the *spokes extra welded to the outer ring* ...

Kobelt

Kobelt Marine Steering – Hydraulic

These components are manufactured in Canada in corrosion-resistant bronze, brass, and stainless steel, instead of aluminum and plastic. They are designed for commercial as well as pleasure use. There are hydraulic steering components for trailer boats to ocean-going ships. When it comes to quality, durability and value, Kobelt simply, blows away the competition. The following components are normal stocking items.

Kobelt Hydraulic Steering

Kobelt Marine Helm Pumps

All helm pumps are manufactured in bronze and stainless steel, except for the bearings and hardened pistons and pintol. Variable displacement pumps are adjusted by turning a screw on the front face of the pump.

Most of the models are available in powder coated, oven baked, black epoxy finish, with a few models available in natural bronze finish. Only short, tapered shafts are kept in stock (except for model 7005-AL). Straight shaft helm pumps may be special ordered with 2 to 3 weeks for delivery.

Kobelt Marine Steering Cylinders

All cylinders are manufactured with brass cylinder tubes, bronze end caps and mounting hardware, and chrome plated stainless steel cylinder rods. The seals used are urethane U-Cup seals in the end caps, BUNA U-Cup seals on the piston and BUNA O-Rings to seal the end caps to the cylinder tube. For heavy duty applications some of the cylinders may be ordered with urethane U-Cup seals for the pistons.
